Yet again, I have been unable to spend the necessary 24/7 keeping up with
this group.
Yet again, I now have over 200 unread articles to plough through.
Yet again, I am going to dodge the issue.
Yet again, I am going to mark everything as read, and hope that I'm not
snubbing anyone by not replying to their replies.
Yet again, I will feel the usual combination of guilt and freedom that you
get when you shove a whole bunch of stuff from "in" to "out" without doing
any processing on it whatsoever.
Oh well - maybe *from now on* I'll be able to keep up.
Yeah, right. :-)

I usually just search for messages by me to check if anyone replied to
me. This really helps to keep my usenet time down, since any thread
I haven't posted in probably isn't all that interesting anyway.

You ought to get yourself one of those "shake it all about"s.

I keep a watch on my own articles (and on Pterry's, of course), so afp
will always show red if there's a reply to my own article (or a post by
Pterry). Not that I post much of course.
As of right now, I have 6596 articles to read. One millienium I might get
around to reading a bunch. For now, I'll just skim the top-most article
of each thread (as sorted by Outhouse Excess) and be done with it.
At least I've downloaded the lot for later perusal when I have a spare
month or so...
